This continuing education course will
focus on advanced topics related to
balance, vestibular disorders, and
concussion management. Clinicians will
discuss relevant advances in concussion
research and management. This course
will emphasize case-based learning and
practical application.

This is the final course in a 3-course series
to prepare clinicians for the Vestibular/
Concussion Certification Examination. Vestibular 1 and Concussion 2 are required prior to registration for Concussion 3.

Target Audience: PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, PTAs

Instructional Level: Beginners

Instructional Methods: Hands-on lab, lecture with Q&A, group discussion, patient cases, evidence review

Course Completion Requirements: must attend the entire 2-day course and complete the post-course test

To effectively assess and treat these clients, therapists must

have a solid understanding of the anatomy, structure and

function of the vestibular system, and utilize evidence- based

assessment, treatment and outcome measures in their

treatment planning and documentation. Vestibular

rehabilitation provides an effective alternative management

strategy for patients living with movement and sensory

selection impairments, and can significantly reduce the risk of

problems related to balance, dizziness and falls. Through an

integrated format of lecture, lab, case studies and open

discussion, this workshop will provide therapists with the

foundation and latest evidence to effectively evaluate and

treat common vestibular disorders.

  • Demonstrate appropriate objective therapy testing techniques for different diagnosis and data collection.
  • Create an appropriate treatment plan to address relevant clinical findings and prevent falls in the targeted population group.canalith repositioning techniques.
  • Demonstrate and implement appropriate and effective therapeutic interventions and exercises based upon objective data collection to address identified pathologies.
  • Identify indications for further diagnostic testing and /or medical referral. Become a community resource for fall prevention and balance/dizziness disorders including general screenings and education programs.
