This certification incorporates an eclectic approach to evaluation and management that allows you to focus on the producing the best clinical outcomes. Clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis and evidence-based practice with a practical approach is presented throughout the coursework. The course will utilize thrust, non-thrust, soft tissue and exercise techniques. These are hands-on, lab intensive courses with supervised practice and case-based application.
Manual Therapy Certification Objectives:
Upon completion of this certification participants will be able to:
- Identify pertinent aspects of the anatomy and its relationship in accurately performing various manual techniques.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations identifying any red or yellow flags that require referral, identifying any precautions, contraindications, and criteria of manual therapy techniques.
- Design a comprehensive and evidence- based treatment plan of care for patient with dysfunction including appropriate intervention.
- Demonstrate interventions including thrust, non-thrust, soft-tissue, neural mobilizations, PROM techniques, and exercise intervention for each body region
Prior to the application for the CORA Institute for Clinical Excellence Physical Therapy Manual Physical Therapist Certification (CMPT), the candidate must have successfully completed ALL of the following:

- Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Lumbar Spine
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Pelvic Girdle
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Upper Quarter
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Lower Quarter
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Cervical Spine
- Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Thoracic Spine and Ribs
Course Requirements:
- Pass the on-line tests associated with each of the courses
- Complete Clinical Communities Discussion Board Post for each course
